#37 Document your work
This seems easy enough to follow, but many of us think too often that we “do not have enough time” to document our work.  When you graduate, you will have worked on and finished thousands upon thousands of ideas, graphics, and constructs.  Many architecture student’s biggest regret when finished with school is that they did not make the time to document their work properly.  So do yourself a favor and work this idea of documentation into your design routine.
Project Routine:
1. Start project
2. Work on project
3. Present project
4. Crash for a day
5. Document everything
6. Repeat
Following these steps will ensure you keep a log of your work so when it is portfolio time you have less work to do.  I would recommend creating a blog of your work making it easy to reference and organize over time.
I created a blog of student work for my school of architecture which helps students keep a chronological documentation of their work.  This can act as an example of how people document their work in an architecture school setting.  If you are interesetd in seeing this blog visit the link below.
* Take notice to the way pictures are taken, things are scanned in and modified, and the level of care taken in making the work look as presentable as possible.

Banksy on Advertising“People are taking the piss out of you everyday. They butt into your life, take a cheap shot at you and then disappear. They leer at you from tall buildings and make you feel small. They make flippant comments from buses that imply you’re not sexy enough and that all the fun is happening somewhere else. They are on TV making your girlfriend feel inadequate. They have access to the most sophisticated technology the world has ever seen and they bully you with it. They are “The Advertisers” and they are laughing at you. You, however, are forbidden to touch them. Trademarks, intellectual property rights and copyright law mean advertisers can say what they like wherever they like with total impunity.Fuck that. Any advert in a public space that gives you no choice whether you see it or not is yours. It’s yours to take, re-arrange and re-use. You can do whatever you like with it. Asking for permission is like asking to keep a rock someone just threw at your head. You owe the companies nothing. Less than nothing, you especially don’t owe them any courtesy. They owe you. They have re-arranged the world to put themselves in front of you. They never asked for your permission, don’t even start asking for theirs.”~ Banksy
